Place your vehicle in neutral, lift it on the hoist and then remove and replace the rear axle (11 1/2 AA). Attach a secure lift to the axle and get rid of the entire brake system. Fit a square to the propeller shaft and its companion flange, then take off the propeller shaft and its axle vent hose. After that, get rid of the U-bolts that hold the
Shock Absorbers to the axle. When the axle has been taken out, use the lift to bring in the new axle and center it with the leaf spring bolts. Fix the U-bolts and tighten them to 149 Nm (110 ft. lbs.), after which attach the shock absorbers and tighten them properly. Return all brake parts to their locations, line the propeller shaft with the marks and bolt it down to the right value. Attach the axle vent hose again, drain the differential until it's full according to the directions and then take off the lift from the axle to lower the vehicle.
