How to Remove and Install a Fuel Level Sensor and Float Assembly on Dodge Ram 2500?

The part of the fuel system called the fuel level sensor is inside the fuel pump module that is beside the fuel tank. You need to pull out the fuel tank and then the fuel pump module to take out the unit. Take out the sensor wires by simply unlocking and removing the black locking collar. The sensor is fitted to the pump's top with a small lock tab and notch. To take it off, carefully move the lock tab out of the way, hold the unit by its sides and slide it down on the tracks. To install, slide the sensor into place in the tracks, direct the cables as needed and press it until the lock tab snaps. Afterwards, put the two sensor wires back together on the plug and put the locking collar into place, then attach the 4-way connector to the module before putting the fuel pump module into the fuel tank.

Insert Special Tool 9340 into the lockring and join the 1/2 inch drive breaker to the tool. Turn the lockring clockwise so all seven protrusions fit into the chassis and put your fuel tank back in.
