The first thing to do is take out the
Hood Latch and the
Battery Tray from the left part of the engine compartment. After that, remove the three hood cable retainers that are fastened to the upper radiator crossmember and the left fender rail. In the vehicle, get rid of the two bolts that secure the hood release handle to the instrument panel bracket, then push the grommet out from the middle of the cowl panel and remove the cable and handle assembly from the hood. To connect the hood cable, put it into the cowl panel and put a grommet in place. Put the hood release handle onto the instrument panel bracket and hold the two bolts in place until they are tightened to 9 N.m (80 in. lbs.). Bring the hood cable to the left fender rail and above the radiator crossmember and fit on the three hood cable retainers. After that, replace the battery tray and the hood latch.
