At the start of servicing and repairing the Four Wheel Antilock System, unhook the battery cables and remove the battery. After that, take out the power distribution center and its mount, then remove the screws holding the washer's water reservoir. Disconnect the pump motor from the connector and hose by lifting the reservoir and then pull the reservoir out of the engine compartment. Take off the connector locks and unhook the two connectors from the threaded port on the CAB and finally unplug the pump motor connector. Unscrew the CAB to the HCU and carefully take away the CAB. When installing, place the CAB onto the HCU so the seal is properly fitted, then secure it with the four mounting screws tightened to 4.4 Nm (39 inch lbs.). Join the pump motor harness and the harnesses to the CAB and lock each connection. Set the reservoir into the engine bay, carefully connect the pump hose to the motor and then bolt in the mounting screws for the reservoir. Now, the battery can go back in the power distribution center, along with the battery cables and you should mount and plug in the power distribution center and battery as well. When you replace the CAB, type in the new rear axle type and the number of tire rotations per mile it handles, with the values from the differential type and tire information found in other sections. Antilock Brake System, Testing and Inspection provides the detailed instructions for programming the CAB.
