You should first remove the negative terminal from the battery when changing the rear panel speaker. For models missing the cargo compartment trim, unscrew the speaker mounting bracket from the supports at the back and pull it away to reach the body wire harness connector. Remove the four nuts supporting the grille onto the speaker bracket and remove the grille. After that, take out the four screws both holding the speaker to the front and remove the speaker itself. To begin, disconnect your battery negative cable. After that, replace the rear side panel and separate the body wire harness connector from the speaker receptacle. Taking out the four nuts from behind the speaker grille, then the grille and then removing the four screws on the speaker in the trim panel, allows you to get to the speaker. For installation without cargo compartment trim, place the speaker at the rear of the inserts and install and tighten the four screws so the motor turns 20 in. lbs or 2.2 Nm, to secure it. Fit the grille onto the front of the mounting bracket, screw the nuts into place from behind using the same specification, attach the body wire harness connector and fit the bracket onto the rear panel reinforcements. After that, insert and tighten the two screws holding the bracket to the reinforcements to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.) and connect the negative battery cable. When installing speakers for a cargo compartment trim, put the speaker on the back of the trim panel, add and tighten the four screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.) and then put the grille over the front of the trim panel and tighten four nuts from the other side to the same torque. Put on the body wire harness connector, place the trim panel over the rear panel and complete by attaching the negative cable to the battery again.
