First, put a mark on the striker's location on the door pillar to help you during installation. With the screws out of the door pillar, remove the striker, any shims used and the spacer from inside. Install both the spacer and the striker on the pillar of the door, putting in any needed shims if that is called for. Insert the striker screws into the door pillar and tighten them to 11 N.m or 95 in. lbs.
