Some engines allow you to access and replace the IMT sensor from the front of the vehicle, without having to remove either the engine cover or the air cleaner housing. Before removing the sensor, take away the negative cable from the battery, remove the electrical connector at the sensor and once that's done, lift out the sensor. Slide the sensor back onto the intake manifold, tighten it to 28 Nm or 20 ft. lbs., plug the electrical connector back in and connect the negative battery cable to the car's battery.
