Dodge Ram 2500 Van MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and install the MAP sensor on the throttle body on Dodge Ram 2500 Van?
    A:
The MAP sensor sits on the front of the throttle body and is attached using a rubber fitting that shapes into an L. First, remove the engine cover and the air cleaner assembly and then take out the sensor's electrical connector. Remover the two bolts that hold in the MAP sensor and take off the L-shaped rubber vacuum fitting by pulling it off the throttle body when the sensor comes out. Get rid of the rubber fitting on the MAP sensor. Screw the rubber L-shaped adapter to the MAP sensor and line up the sensor over the throttle body, with the adapter placed over the throttle body vacuum nipple. Hold the MAP sensor in place with the secure bolts, tightening them to 3 Nm (25 in. lbs.), next reconnect its electrical connector, replace the air cleaner and finally place the engine cover back.
