To put in the crankshaft, first match up the main bearings according to Engine Block/Crankshaft Main Bearings - Standard Procedure and then lubricate and install each bearing in the respective block and cap. Put the crankshaft into the cylinder block and put the thrust washers around it. Clean and grease all the cap bolts before fitting them into the main bearing areas and tighten each alternately by turning it to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) first, then 90°. Then, install the crossbolts with new washers/gaskets, starting with crossbolt A and torque each to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.), operating the same on all crossbolts. Check the crankshaft end play, put the connecting rods on the crankshaft and install the rod bearing caps. After this, add the timing drive, oil pump, timing chain cover, rear main seal and retainer, windage tray/
Oil Pan gasket, oil pick-up tube, oil pan and vibration damper and then you can install the engine.
