The ignition coil which is epoxy filled, must be replaced with another of the same type. The first thing to do is to take off the wiring and secondary cable from the ignition coil. It is vital not to remove the assembly bolts between the coil mounting bracket and cylinder head, due to the belt tension; if however, the crankshaft pulley assembly needs to be moved lower, all tension on the belt must be removed first. After that, unbolt the ignition coil from the coil mounting bracket. Attach the ignition coil to its bracket and tighten the nuts or bolts to 11 Nm if you use them or 5 Nm if you screw them into a tapped bracket. With everything done, secure all the wires again onto the ignition coil.
