The sensor responsible for managing throttle speed, the TPS, is next to the throttle body. To remove it, remove the engine cover and lift the air intake tube from the throttle body afterward. Remove the two TPS bolts from the throttle body, then take off its electrical connector and remove the TPS. Slide the throttle body onto the sensor so the throttle shaft can rotate in the TPS socket; if it does not, detach the sensor and put the throttle shaft on its other side with the tangs under slight tension. Attach the TPS and the two bolts in place and then tighten each one with 7 Nm (60 in. lbs. ) torque. Use the throttle control lever by hand until you see any sticking. Next, connect the TPS electrical connector, reinstall the air intake tube and finally, install the engine cover.
