You should disable the air bag by removing the negative battery cable, wait two minutes and then move onto the passenger seat belt service. Look at all seat belts, buckles, anchoring hardware and retractors for proper assembly, function or damage, replacing those that are torn, frays or cut and fixing those that are twisted. Fix any loose fasteners and swap out any damaged or faulty buckles, retractors, latch plates or anchor plates with parts from the Mopar catalog, because repairs on seat belts are against the law. When removing a car, disconnect its negative terminal and wait two minutes if the air bags have not activated. Next, release the cover from the front shoulder belt turning loop, unscrew the screw connecting the turning loop to the height adjuster and remove them together. Disconnect the tensioner wire from the seat belt buckle, remove the screw securing the retractor to the outboard side of the front seat and remove the front shoulder belt and its retractor. When putting the belt in place, attach the front shoulder belt and retractor to the passenger front seat riser's outboard side, so that the hole on the retractor engages the hole provided. Secure the retractor to the seat riser with a screw turned to 40 Nm (29 ft. lbs.), attach the seat belt tensioner pigtail wire connector and position the anti-rattle washer and shoulder belt turning loop onto the height adjuster. Connect the shoulder belt turning loop screw to the height adjuster, tighten it to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.), snap the trim cover over the front shoulder belt turning loop anchor plate and leave the battery negative cable disconnected until after an air bag system test.
