  To service and repair the wiper motor linkage, begin by removing the wiper arms from the wiper pivots. Open the hood and take out the screws securing the cowl plenum cover/grille panel to the cowl top panel. Use a trim stick or a suitable wide flat-bladed tool to gently pry up each end of the cowl plenum cover/grille panel to release the snap clip retainer. Carefully remove the cowl plenum cover/grille panel from the cowl top, ensuring not to apply pressure to or pry on the plastic drive link bushing; only apply pressure to the metal portions of the drive link around the bushing to avoid damage. Next, detach the wiper linkage drive link from the wiper motor crank arm by prying the drive link bushing off the crank arm ball stud using two suitably sized screwdrivers. Remove the four screws securing the pivot mounting flanges to the cowl top panel, and then, working through the cowl top panel access holes, extract the linkage and pivot assembly from the cowl plenum as a unit, again being cautious not to damage the plastic drive link bushing. To install, reverse the removal procedures, placing a short 19 mm or 3/4 inch socket over the capped side of the drive link bushing as a protective sleeve. Use channel-lock pliers to reinstall the drive link bushing onto the crank arm ball stud, applying pressure with the pliers to the crank arm and the socket, avoiding direct pressure on the plastic bushing. Finally, tighten the pivot mounting screws to 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.) and the cowl plenum cover/grille panel mounting screws to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.).
