  To install a new fuel injector in the left cylinder head, be sure there are no sparks, open flames or burning anywhere as exposure to fuel could be fatal and wear safety gear. As soon as you install a new injector or shift an existing one, perform the injector quantity adjustment procedure. Clean the injectors and the areas around them without adding lubricant to the injector nozzle or blocking the fuel injector's holes. Anti-seize lubricant should be used on the injector body and each injector should be fitted with a new sealing washer before being installed. Put in the tensioning claws and tighten the fasteners first to 7 Nm (62 lbs. in.) and then another 180°. After looking at the ends of the fuel line and the fittings, change the fuel line when it shows damage. Set up the return line behind the injectors, tighten the main fuel line by hand where it meets the rail and injector and finally tighten the fitting in the Fuel Rail to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) and the injector to 33 Nm (24 ft. lbs.). Connect the electronic connector on the fuel injector, position the wiring for the left rear injector on the engine and tighten the fasteners of the harness to 8.5 Nm (75 in. lbs.). After you've installed the fuel return line, press down the retaining ring, put the Battery Cable back in place and join everything with the engine cover. After that, turn the engine on, let it heat up, switch it off again and check for any leaks.

  Don't forget to block the injector holes in the recesses with pins which will keep debris from entering the motor. Place a cap inside each injector hole in the cylinder head recess and then wipe the recesses clean with a non-woven cloth, finishing with a circular brush. Scrub the bottom of the cylinder seat with a round brush, blow it out clean and wipe it over with a non-woven cloth prior to placing the cover on. Follow these instructions for all the injector recesses on the engine. Wire brushes are not safe to wipe the tip of the injector with; so, use something non-woven instead. Use a wire brush on the injector body and a non-woven cloth on the injector tips. Do not put antiseize lubricant where the injector nozzle meets the manifold, but grease the body of the injector with antiseize. Always fit new seals to the injector apertures at the cylinder head and replace the supporting screws.
