For starters, secure the rack and pinion bolts (2) to a first torque of 25 Nm, add another 55 Nm after that and end with an additional quarter turn. Insert the Steering Shaft universal joint all the way onto the rack and pinion shaft until the hole at the end of the joint lines up with the radial groove in the steering shaft. Place the universal joint onto the rack and pinion and fix it with bolt (2) by turning the torque to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Tuck both Power Steering Hoses (1) under the rack and pinion (4) and tighten the hold down bolt (3) with 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.) of force. Put on the spring clamp plates (1), curved outer Tie Rod End (3) and jam nut (2) to the end of the inner tie rod (1). Secure both outer tie rod ends to the Steering Knuckle with a torque of 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.) and also turn them another 60° by hand. Reattach the top connecting link to the stabilizer bar, mount the front wheels again, bleed the power steering hoses, adjust the toe to the correct angles and check for fluid leaks all around the steering system.
