Before repairing the steering knuckle, lift and hold up the car, then unbolt and take off the front wheels. After that, remove the disc
Brake Caliper adapter and the hub/bearing. The outer tie rod can be removed from the steering knuckle with the help of special tool C-3894-A. By using a jack and raising the lower
Control Arm about 10 mm, you eliminate tension in the damper strut. Then, pull straight out the ABS sensor from the knuckle. Remove the strut at the knuckle and then use special tool 9282 to release the lower
Ball Joint from the knuckle. Following this, take the steering knuckle off the car. Starting the installation, put the steering knuckle on the lower ball joint stud and attach it with the lower ball joint nut, tightening to 280 Nm (206 ft. lbs.). Secure the strut to the steering knuckle using 185 Nm (136 ft. lbs.) and bolt on the outer tie rod end to the steering knuckle using 130 Nm (96 ft. lbs.). Move the ABS sensor completely into the knuckle to let it adjust automatically when you turn the wheel. After reinstalling the hub/bearing, put in the disc brake caliper adapter with the caliper and once again attach the front wheels. After this, lower the car and check for toe problems if needed.
