How to Safely Detach a Tachometer on Dodge Viper?

To access the tachometer, first open the instrument panel center bezel and unplug the cigar lighter, power window and rear window defogger wires from the switch connectors. Also, remove the knee blockers placed beside everyone's right foot and their left foot in the next phase. After that, insert a stiff wire or small tool into the bottom hole of the switch knob, push up on the tool while slowly pulling the knob towards you, avoiding to break the locking tab. Afterward, unattach the steering column shroud which might need you to lower the steering column first. After that, remove the instrument panel bezel by not breaking the locking tab and then remove the two meter mounting screws. Now, grab the meter and take out the wires from the connector. To install, work backward through these steps.
