Jeep Clutch Fork directs the force of the pedal in clean gear swaps that ensure the fleet adventures continue. Jeep has paid its dues creeping through war-infested roads and transformed into a civilized symbol that laughs at potholes and scowls at dirt roads and yet leaves the roof off so it can see the sky. Like the Selec-Terrain knob which switches between snow, sand, and mud, allowing torque that holds its position where it is needed, Jeep drivers have ensured that the SUV never gets stuck in one personality. The cabins at Jeep are currently combining rough grab handles with electronic screens, voice recognition, and overnight software updates delivered on air like Christmas presents. The Jeep loyalty is successful since the owners exchange tips, trail maps, and they use time-tested drive trains rather than slicker promises. In between the release bearing and pivot point is the Clutch Fork which changes every press of the pedal into an accurate push which releases the pressure plate, stops gear clash, and makes the gearbox ecstatic at every rpm. Clutch Fork easily fits with either hydraulic or mechanical linkages, thus upgrades or repairs can be easily fitted without re-engineering the entire power transmission. Clutch Fork wear is characterized by gritty shifts or a pedal that has become soft and drivers should move before the power flow becomes sloppy. Clutch Fork ensures that the adventure continues as it survives the heat, mud, and dumped clutches several times that would bend weaker components to rags.

Jeep Clutch Fork Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Clutch Fork on Jeep Liberty?
    A:
Before you start work on the clutch release fork, take out the transmission. Cut the chain at disconnect release bearing 1 and take off release fork 2 as well as the bearing. If the bearing slide surface of the retainer in the transmission is scored, worn or has cracks, replace the part. Look at the release fork and pivot to ensure the pivot fits securely and has not worn out and confirm the fork's shape is not distorted. If the release fork retainer spring is bent or broken, replace it. When it's time to install, use Mopar high temperature bearing grease to lubricate the crankshaft pilot bearing, running the grease-tipped screwdriver through the clutch plate hub to apply it. Smear a small amount of grease onto the splines of the input shaft, both sides of the bearing retainer slide and the fork and release fork pivots. Set up your new release displaying 1 in the repair box and then connect it to release 2 afterward.
