Jeep Liberty Clutch Fork Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Clutch Fork on Jeep Liberty?
    A:
The first thing to do when installing the clutch release fork is to tighten the cap on the master cylinder reservoir, so spills don't occur during the process. Set up the clutch linkage in the car, sliding them down so that the connecting line and slave cylinder are next to the rear end of the engine and the clutch housing. Put the Clutch Master Cylinder (1) on the dash panel and join the clutch master cylinder actuator (4) to the pivot pin (3) on the clutch pedal. Screw the nuts for the clutch master cylinder into position with a torque of 38 Nm (28 ft. lbs.). Plan the slave cylinder (1) push rod through the clutch housing, so that it goes into the release lever. After that, set the slave cylinder nuts and tighten them to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Wrap the clutch fluid line with body and transmission clips and ensure the clutch interlock safety switch wires (5) are all connected.
