After placing the shifter on the floorpan, hold it in place with bolts and tighten them to 12 Nm (105 in.lbs.). Before touching the shifter assembly, make sure the floor shifter is in the PARK position and loose the adjustment nut. Connect the end of the gear
Shift Cable to the shift lever pin and secure the park lock cable to the cam part of the shift mechanism and the notch in the shifter assembly. Check that the key is put in the LOCK position and stays there while you are adjusting the cable and make sure the park lock tab is pulled all the way up and unlocked. Make sure the wiring connectors are smooth on the shifter assembly, double-check that the shift lever is in PARK and tighten the adjustment screw to 30 Nm (265 in.lbs.). When you've double-checked PARK and LOCK, push the adjust tab on the park lock cable downward and hold it to secure the position. Make sure the shifter, park lock and BTSI are all working properly and if not, replace them. If this is not required, attach the shelving over the shifter and park lock cables to the housing with bolts. In place of the removed console parts, slide back the center console and TV panel over their rails.
