Before changing the Differential Seal, park the Jeep on flat ground, chock the wheels, and raise the axle so it will spin freely. To drain the fluid, loosen the diff cover. Mark the driveshaft yoke so that you can restore the preload. Then, remove the yoke. Finally, use a hook tool to pull out the old Differential Seal. Make sure the bore is spotless, smear some fresh gear lube on the lips, and then tap the new Differential Seal flush with a large socket so it is square. Put the slip yoke back to its marks, torque the nut, refill with gear oil, drop it down, and check for leaks.
