How Are Emblems Removed and Installed on Jeep Cherokee?

The exterior nameplates are attached to the body panels with adhesive tape. Use a length of masking tape placed on the body next to the top edge of the nameplate to support your cut. If the temperature drops under 21 degrees C (70 degrees F), let a heat lamp or gun heat the emblem, but be sure to leave it below 52 degrees C (120 degrees F). Split the adhesive backing from the body with a plastic trim stick or hard wood wedge and then clean the area with Mopar Super Clean solvent or a similar product. While installing, first take off the covering on the adhesive tape, next place the emblem correctly on your shoes and press it gently with your hands. Whenever the temperature gets down to 21 degrees Celsius (70 degrees Fahrenheit), repeat warming the emblem using a heat lamp or gun before placing it, to prevent any cold air from affecting the adhesion.

How to Detach the Emblem from the Body on Jeep Patriot?

Planning ahead. Line the top edge of the nameplate with masking tape before applying the tape to the body which can direct you as you work. If the mercury does not pass 21°C (70°F), place the emblem under a warm light from a heat lamp or gun, not letting it warm more than 52°C (120°F). Use a C-4755 trim stick or something similar to eliminate the adhesive from under the rear of the emblem. When finished, wipe the body clean of adhesive using either Mopar® Super Kleen solvent or another good quality product.

Q: How Are Emblems Removed and Installed on Jeep Cherokee?

The exterior nameplates are attached to the body panels with adhesive tape. Use a length of masking tape placed on the body next to the top edge of the nameplate to support your cut. If the temperature drops under 21 degrees C (70 degrees F), let a heat lamp or gun heat the emblem, but be sure to leave it below 52 degrees C (120 degrees F). Split the adhesive backing from the body with a plastic trim stick or hard wood wedge and then clean the area with Mopar Super Clean solvent or a similar product. While installing, first take off the covering on the adhesive tape, next place the emblem correctly on your shoes and press it gently with your hands. Whenever the temperature gets down to 21 degrees Celsius (70 degrees Fahrenheit), repeat warming the emblem using a heat lamp or gun before placing it, to prevent any cold air from affecting the adhesion.

Planning ahead. Line the top edge of the nameplate with masking tape before applying the tape to the body which can direct you as you work. If the mercury does not pass 21°C (70°F), place the emblem under a warm light from a heat lamp or gun, not letting it warm more than 52°C (120°F). Use a C-4755 trim stick or something similar to eliminate the adhesive from under the rear of the emblem. When finished, wipe the body clean of adhesive using either Mopar® Super Kleen solvent or another good quality product.
