Before repairing the weather strip, you need to first remove the liftgate scuff plate trim. After that, remove the seal from the edge of the liftgate and pull the weather strip strip from the opening. When dirty, clean the weather strip flange. The left seal end should be pressed onto the center of the opening during installation; afterward, push the weather strip onto the flange, rotating clockwise. Butt the two ends of the weather strip together along the tray's center before you fasten the trim in position.

How to Maintain and Fix a Full Door Weather Strip on Jeep Wrangler?

Be sure to peel the weather strip away from the window opening frame's channel, then pull the lower section out of the push-in fasteners. After that, pull out the push-in fasteners holding the weather strip to the door. For the installation part, place the lower strip first and make sure its push-in fasteners have clicked all the way in. After that, install the header weather strip into the upper groove and ensure that it is all the way in.
