How to Perform a Seat Switch Replacement for the Driver's Seat on Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Before changing the driver seat switch, disconnect and block off the negative cable on the battery. Gently slide a push pin remover or a wide flat-bladed tool beneath the power seat and power recliner switch knobs to release them from the switch stems if you have a ten-way power seat system. Then, loosen the three screws on the side shield of the outboard seat, pull the shield away and expose the power switch harness connector. Remove the wire harness connector from the power seat switch connector receptacle. Afterward, remove the two screws holding down the power seat switch under the outboard seat cushion's side shield and then remove the switch itself. When installing, attach the switch to the side shield of the outside seat cushion and fasten the two screws to 1.5 Nm (14 in. lbs.). Set aside the armrest and then attach the power seat wire harness connector to the power seat switch connector receptacle, place the storage box inside the outboard seat cushion side shield and install and tighten the three screws to 1.5Nm (14 in. lbs.). If you have a ten-way power seat, place the power seat and recliner controls on the switch stems and push them until you hear them lock in position. After that, join the other battery terminal to the negative battery terminal.

How to Perform a Seat Switch in the Driver's Side Front Door on Jeep Grand Cherokee?

The first thing to do is remove and isolate the battery's negative cable from the switch. Take away the trim panel from the front driver door, then get rid of the memory switch wire harness connector from the driver door module connector receptacle. After that, unscrew the two screws holding the memory switch to the back of the driver's side front door and remove it. Position the memory switch at the back of the driver door trim and screw in and tighten the two mounting screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Attach the memory switch wire harness connector to the driver door module receptacle, fit the trim panel onto the front door of the driver side and link the negative battery cable back.
