Begin with a visual inspection of all the seat belts, buckles, mounting pieces, retractors, tether straps and anchors to ensure they are installed, functioning or not damaged. Any belt that is torn, frayed or cut should be replaced; untwist any buckles, tighten loose seat belt fasteners and use the DaimlerChrysler Mopar Parts Catalog for new buckles, retractors, latch plates or anchor plates in case any are broken. Secure the retractor and its rear center seat belt onto the back of the seat, then use a torque wrench to tighten the securing screw to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Drop the cable plunger from the seat back onto the retractor latch lever and then plug the cable fitting into the latch on the retractor. Route the rear seat anchor and belt web guide up to the seat back panel, put the trim back into position on the right rear seat back and secure the belt web guide to the top of the rear seat back panel with two 2 Nm (20 in. lbs.) screws. Put the proper back panel for the right rear seat into the vehicle, attach the lower middle seat belt anchor to the stud on the rear floor and tighten the screw securing it to 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.). After that, place the cargo area carpet just above the base of the seat back panel, raise the right rear seat to an upright position and snap the right center seat belt buckle back into its spot on the floor near the door.
