You must first disconnect the negative
Battery Cable before working on the power seat switch. To remove the power seat switch control knobs, push them off with a push pin remover or a wide flat-bladed tool. Then, undo the two forward screws holding the shield to the back of the forward cushion and remove the screw securing the recliner handle. Start by pulling the outboard side shield away from the seat frame to reach the power seat wire harness and its strap, then cut the strap if it is in place. By pushing on the retaining tab and pulling, take out the main power seat wire harness from the power switch receptacle. Take out the two screws holding the power seat switch inside the shield using a very short Phillips-headed screwdriver, then get rid of the switch. Connect the power seat wire harness connector to the power seat switch connector receptacle and place the power seat switch on the outboard side shield with the dowel guide fitted into its corresponding hole. Fix the two power seat switch screws through the inside of the shield and tighten them to 1.5 N.m (14 in.lbs.), finally position the shield on the seat cushion frame and secure it with other two screws tightened to 1.5 N.m (14 in.lbs.). Replace the recliner handle and retaining screw, tighten to 1.5 N.m (14 in.lbs.) and press the power seat switch knob onto the switch control levers until it snaps in. In the end, attach the negative battery cable.
