Check the width by putting a scale and straightedge on top of the converter and seat it so the stack is 1/2 inch back from the edge of the straightedge. When the converter has to be temporarily held, secure it by adding a C-clamp to the housing, then set up the transmission in the car before adding the proper fluid.
