How to Detach a Satellite Antenna on Jeep Patriot?

The first step for removing the satellite antenna is isolating the negative side of the car battery. Pull down the low end of the headliner until the antenna is visible from underneath. Using nylon cord, tie two 18 to 24 inch handles together as a way to remove adhesives. Put the nylon cord through the dust seal found in front of the antenna and while you hold each handle, move the cord through the adhesive the full way around the antenna. Take out the connectors from the antenna to the wire harness. From inside your car, insert a flat instrument and press on one of the tabs that keep the antenna in place. Press the other part of the connector and take out the antenna. When done, treat the left-over adhesive with isopropyl alcohol and wipe it carefully with a lint-free cloth and if you'll use the original antenna, also remove adhesive from that surface.

After that, put the inner fender shield and antenna mast in place, check that they are snug at 5 Nm (46 in. lbs.) and make certain that there is no gap between the antenna mast and its base. Match the antenna cable to the instrument panel connector, place the right side cowl trim panel and finally link the battery negative cable.
