How to Install an Axle Shaft into the Axle Tube on Jeep Wrangler?

Before inserting the axle assembly, check that you use new axle nuts; reusing old ones can weaken the system and result in injury. Tighten the retainer nuts on the axle to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.). Installing the brake (2), then the harness (1) and then the park brake cables (1) comes next.

How to Safely Remove an Axle Shaft on Jeep Wrangler?

Before you remove the axle shaft, check that the transmission is neutral and lift the vehicle onto a hoist. After that, take off the brake hardware and wheel speed sensor from the hub bearing. Subsequently, loosen and remove the hub nut (1) and unscrew the three hub bearing bolts (1) fastened to the steering knuckle (2) from the axle shaft (2). Then, separate the hub bearing and axle shaft through the steering knuckle and finish by removing both the brake shield and hub bearing from the axle.
