Before repairing or servicing the rear door latch, first take out the carrier plate (6). After that, pull apart the actuator rods and remove the latch cable connectors (3) and the door connector (1). Lastly, take the latch off the latch bracket tabs (2) and disappear it from the housings.

How to Install a Door Latch Assembly for a Half Rear Door on Jeep Wrangler?

Install the rear door latch for the half rear door by first screwing the latch in place and tightening it to 8 Nm (71 in. lbs.), starting with the top screws. After that, match the electrical connector to the battery, then fit the rods and make sure the clips snap securely in place. Then, affix the rear exterior handle nut (2) and fasten it properly to 4.5 Nm (40 in. lbs.). After that, add the trim panel (1).
