When installing the lifters, apply engine oil inside their hole and ensure the hole is upwards. Then, the hydraulic lifters should be installed so that the lubrication hole points up toward the middle of the block and where they originally belonged. Set the yokes next to each other, then put in the yoke retainer and tighten the screws to a torque of 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). With the lifters attached, you can go on to mount the cylinder heads. At this point, fire up the engine and let it warm up to its typical temperature, never running the engine above fast idle until all record lifters are full of oil and are soft.
