How to Remove a Rear Shock Absorber on Jeep Wrangler?

Raise the vehicle and the axle so you can remove the rear shock absorber. Then, take out the top bolts 1, unscrew the lower nut and bolt 2 from the bracket and remove the shock absorber 1.

How to Properly Install a Shock Absorber on Jeep Wrangler?

The first step is to attach the shock absorber (2) to the top of the frame rail with mounting bolts (1) and tighten those bolts (1) to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.). Following that, add the lower bolt and nut (2) preferably by hand only for now. After removing the supports, drive the vehicle down and tighten the lower nut to 76 Nm (56 ft. lbs.).
