How to Service and Repair an Axle Shaft Seal on a Front Axle on Jeep Wrangler?

For the Front Axle - 216Fbi, put the car in neutral, raise it with a hoist and properly support it before working. Detach the axle shafts and, after that, take the differential assembly out. Raise the vehicle and remove the inner axle shaft seals with the pry bar, sweeping away all old adhesive. Replace the old oil seals by using Disc 8110 and Turnbuckle 6797. Tighten them so that Disc 8110 bottoms in the housing. When you have finished installing the steering components, replace the differential and axle shafts.

How to Replace an Axle Shaft Seal on Jeep Wrangler?

When servicing the axle shaft seals, raise the vehicle with a hoist so it is not moving, put it in neutral and take out the axle shafts and differential assembly. Utilize a pry bar to take out the inner axle shaft seals and be sure remove any leftover sealer from where the seals were originally. To install new oil seals, operate Disc 8110 and Turnbuckle 6797 until the disc reaches the bottom of the housing. Now, replace the differential and axle shaft assembly.
