How to Install a Wiper Motor on Jeep Wrangler?

Inside the lift glass, mount the motor and bracket system with the plastic inner spacer and rubber seal on the output shaft fitting in the right place between them and the clearance hole in the glass. While holding the motor, set and tighten the appropriate nut that aligns the motor mounting bracket to the left lift glass hinge lower stud to 6 Nm (53 in. lbs.). Turn the special fastener counterclockwise to tighten and turn it clockwise to loosen. Accept the special fastener secured to the outside of the lift glass and tighten it to 4 Nm (35 in. lbs.) using a screwdriver. Link the hardtop wire harness connector to the rear wiper motor pigtail wire harness connector and attach the hardtop washer hose to the rear washer nozzle nipple on the back of the wiper motor assembly. Draw the guide pins on the back of the rear wiper motor cover through the round openings in the bracket. Press the cover together with the bracket, letting the snap clip connectors hold it in place. Pull the lift glass downward and shut the swing gate on top of the garbage. Cover the rear wiper motor output shaft with the rubber seal and the plastic spacer and carefully tighten the nut securing the output shaft to 4 Nm (35 in. lbs.). Attach the plastic nut cover to the output shaft and replace the rear wiper arm onto the output shaft as well. After you are finished, reconnect the battery negative cable.

How to Remove a Wiper Motor on Jeep Wrangler?

The first step to take is to cut off and protect the battery negative cable. Take the rear wiper arm off by removing it from the rear wiper motor shaft. First, remove the nut cover from the plastic output shaft and then remove the nut keeping the output shaft and lift glass together. After that, remove the plastic spacer and the rubber seal from the output shaft. Open the gate to the swing and pull up on the lift glass. Take hold of the rear wiper motor cover edges and pull it hard down to open the three clips that hold it to the rear wiper motor bracket. Remove the hardtop washer hose from the rear washer nozzle nipple found on the wiper motor housing. After that, take off the hardtop wire harness connector from the rear wiper motor wire harness plug. Remember that the special fastener turns clockwise to loosen and counterclockwise to tighten. Before removing the motor, position your right hand under the thin metal ribbon and then unhook the special fastener securing the motor mounting bracket to the vehicle's outside glass with your left hand. With the motor supported, unscrew the nut that holds the motor bracket on the left lift glass hinge. In the end, take out the motor and bracket unit inside the lift glass.
