2000 Dodge Caravan Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace the Second Right Row Outboard Seat Belt on 2000 Dodge Caravan?
A: To remove the second right row seat belt in a long wheelbase vehicle, remove the second row seat first. Subsequently, slide the stainless steel cover to the other side of the anchor to reveal the lower anchor shoulder-nut (Second Right Row Outboard Seat Belt LWB). After this, remove the lower anchor that connects to the wheelhouse. Pull down the upper turning loop extension cover and remove the bolt that connects the turning loop to the extension bracket above the quarter glass (Second Right Row Outboard Seat Belt - LWB). At this point, remove the turning loop from the extension bracket, get rid of the D-pillar trim panel and unbolt the quarter trim bolster. Through the access hole in the quarter trim, slide the seat belt webbing and turning loop and remove the bolt and screw that connect the retractor to the right side quarter panel (part number: Second Right Row Outboard Seat Belt - LWB). To install, put the second row seat belt retractor in the vehicle and insert the screw and bolt into the inner quarter panel, tightening all seat belt bolts to 39 N.m (29 ft. lbs.) torque. Pass both the webbing and the turning loop of the seat belt through the access hole in the quarter trim, then install these trim pieces. Align the turning loop with the extension bracket and use a bolt to connect them together above the quarter glass, turning to the same maximum torque as before. Attach the upper turning loop extension cover, slip the lower anchor into place in the wheelhouse and then fit and tighten the lower anchor shoulder-nut to a torque of 39 N.m (29 ft. lbs.). Then, place the lower anchor cover over the shoulder part of the anchor and set the second row seats into the vehicle.
