How to Service and Repair a Canister Purge Valve on 2000 Dodge Dakota?

A valve called the EVAP canister purge is on the right-rear side of the engine compartment and it needs special procedures for servicing. Before pulling out the valve, detach each of the electrical and vacuum harness connectors from it. After that, remove the support bracket mounting nuts and then take out both the valve and its bracket from the vehicle. When installing, set the EVAP canister purge valve and its mounting bracket in place, install the mounting nuts and tighten them to 8 Nm or 75 in. lbs. torque. At the end, attach the vacuum harness and the wiring connector again.
