Unscrew or un-bolt the heat shields from the frame and floor pan, but always take out the muffler front support bracket before handling the muffler heat shield. Take the shields off their storage and position them covering the exhaust system. For installation, make sure the heat shields are on the floor pan or frame and then screw or bolt them in place, tightening according to the specs in the Specifications listing before you can lower the car.
