2001 Dodge Dakota Exhaust Heat Shield Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an Exhaust Heat Shield on 2001 Dodge Dakota?
A: The first step to service or repair the heat shield is to raise and support the vehicle. After removing the screws from the heat shield to the frame or floor pan, take off the muffler front support bracket, then remove the muffler heat shield. Take out the shields from around the exhaust system. Hold the heat shields up to the floor pan or frame and add the screws or nuts, tightening them to the set depth before you sliding the vehicle onto the jack.
