How to Maintain a Washer Pump on 2000 Dodge Dakota?

First, remove and isolate the negative battery cable before doing any service on the windshield washer pump. After that, take out the headlamp and dash wire harness connector from the washer pump's connector receptacle and remove the washer supply hose from the pump's outlet nipple. Pour out the old washer fluid from the container into a clean bin so you can use it again when necessary. Holding your trim stick or other suitable wide tool at a slight angle, push the barbed nipple of the washer pump to detach it from the rubber seal inside the reservoir. Take out and get rid of the rubber grommet seal from the reservoir. For installation, simply undo the removal process and replace the rubber seal in the washer reservoir with a new one.
