2000 Dodge Dakota MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a MAP Sensor on the Throttle Body on 2000 Dodge Dakota?
A: On one side of the throttle body, you'll find the MAP sensor connected with a long rubber fitting that looks like the letter L. Remove the valve housing from the throttle body, once you have done that, take off the electrical wire connector at the MAP sensor. The next step is to remove the two mounting screws (bolts) connecting the MAP sensor, whereas at the same time, take off the rubber L-shape from both the throttle body and the sensor. For installation, needle the L-shaped rubber fitting into the MAP sensor, fit the sensor over the throttle body while keeping the fitting above the throttle body vacuum nipple and use the mounting bolts (screws) to secure the MAP sensor, applying 3 Nm (25 in. lbs.) of torque. Then, plug the sensor's electrical connector back in and put the air duct back at the throttle body.
