2000 Dodge Dakota Wiper Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a Wiper Switch Safely on 2000 Dodge Dakota?
A: You should start by disconnecting and discharging the battery's negative cable when servicing the wiper switch. If this model requires it, take off the tilt steering column lever. Following that, pull both steering column shrouds off before taking the lower fixed column shroud away. Shift the upper fixed column shroud to get to the rear of the multi-function switch. Remove the tamper proof mounting screws securing the multi-function switch to the steering column with a Snap-On snap-on tamper proof torx bit TTXR20B2. Pull the switch gently away from the steering column, then push the connector screw in and unplug the wire harness from the multi-function switch. For installation, unwind the removal instructions, making sure to screw the multi-function switch wire harness connector to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.) and the multi-function switch mounting screws to the same amount.
