2000 Dodge Dakota Headlight Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the Headlight Switch on 2000 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before servicing the headlamp switch, you must first detach and separate the negative battery cable. Lift off the bezel that holds the instruments in the instrument panel. Remove the three screws holding the headlamp switch onto the instrument panel and put the switch to one side after you have access to the wire harness connectors. Dissconnect both wire harness connectors from the headlamp switch receptacles on the dash and uninstall the headlamp switch. Once the headlamp switch is in the instrument panel, hook the two connector wires together to the switch. Install the headlamp switch and secure it with the three screws, each one tightened to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). After that, secure the cluster bezel on the instrument panel and plug in the negative battery cable again.
