2000 Dodge Dakota Brake Light Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Light Switch on 2000 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before repairing the switch, take out the switch harness from its connection. While the brake pedal remains depressed and held, turn the switch counterclockwise about 30°, so the lock tab is above the notch in the bracket, then pull the switch back out of its mount. Press the brake pedal and place the new switch so the tab fits in the notch of the switch bracket. Insert the switch, turn about 30° clockwise and it will lock in. After connecting the harness wires to the switch and releasing the brake pedal, press the release lever on the switch forward to engage the plunger and that's it.
