How to Service and Repair a Tie Rod End on 2000 Dodge Durango?

Before servicing or repairing a tie rod end, you should raise and support the vehicle. Take out the nut from the tie rod end and use Puller C-3894-A to pull the tie rod end away from the steering knuckle. Undo the jam nut and loosen the thread on the tie rod end. To install, slip the tie rod onto the tie rod end and when done, clean the stud and taper on the knuckle. Set the tie rod end stud into the steering knuckle and fasten the nut to 108 Nm (80 ft. lbs.), then fasten the jam nut to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.) and be sure not to twist the boot as you do this. Lift up the vehicle again, remove the support and finally tune the toe of the wheels as necessary.
