    A: Always remove power from the air bag control before starting any repairs on the steering column. You should always torque all fasteners per the instructions to avoid problems with the steering column. Place the front wheels forward and next remove the negative cable from the battery. Reach in and take out the air bag next and after that, attach the puller to the steering wheel, checking that it holds the steering wheel not the Clock Spring to prevent damage. After placing the steering wheel back in place, tighten the nut to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.) and attach the air bag after. Once the battery ground (negative) cable is connected, check how the automatic transmission shift linkage works and adjust it as needed.
