2000 Dodge Intrepid Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair Engine Mounts on the Left and Right Sides on 2000 Dodge Intrepid?
A: You should lift the vehicle on a hoist before accessing the engine mounts for repair or replacement. Take out the attaching nut from the top of the mounting bracket. Unless supported by a jack with a block of wood placed under the engine, the oil pan will not be safe. After that, take out the nuts holding the isolator to the frame. Raise the engine only as much as needed to let you separate the isolator with the heat shield from its mount. To install the isolator mount, first add the heat shield, then place the whole structure on the motorcycle frame and drop the engine onto the isolator mount. After taking off the jack, tighten both the isolator to frame nuts and the upper attaching nuts on the mount wing to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.) and you are done. Make sure to lower the vehicle as well. Cracking on the surface of engine hydro-mounts may occur without affecting the engine and requires replacement if the fluid is leaking, after repairing front-end damage or when the isolator is changed.
