2001 Dodge Neon A/C Accumulator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace the A/C Accumulator in the System on 2001 Dodge Neon?
A: Located in a grommet on the right, in the engine compartment, the A/C accumulator is mounted and you must cool off the refrigerant from the air conditioner system before pulling the old A/C accumulator. First empty and cover the refrigerant, then break the connection between the A/C accumulator and both the suction line and the line entering the unit. Take the A/C accumulator out of its rubber housing and remove it. Be sure to install all the A/C line seals for the disconnected parts to keep refrigerant leaks from happening. Pop the A/C accumulator into the rubber grommet, attach the liquid line to the A/C accumulator and connect the liquid line to the A/C accumulator on the suction line assembly. After all, evacuate the system and then add the required amount of refrigerant.
