2000 Dodge Neon Belt Tensioner Parts and Q&A
Q: How Does a Belt Tensioner Ensure Proper Tension and How to Remove and Install on 2000 Dodge Neon?
A: The automatic belt tensioner keeps the power steering and air conditioning belt properly tensioned and is serviced with the engine mount bracket. Normal axial movement of the tensioner arm should maintain 50-70 lbs. tension. To remove it, take off the engine mount bracket, then the pulley and bolt, and reinstall in reverse order.
