2000 Dodge Ram 3500 Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix an Engine Mount on 2000 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: First, detach the negative battery cable and maneuver the fan clear of the radiator top tank and hose so that you do not raise the engine using the intake manifold. Put the engine support in place and lift the whole vehicle with a hoist. Rise the engine up enough to remove the through-bolt and nut, then take out the bolts holding the engine support bracket/cushion and finally lift out the support bracket/cushion and heat shields. For assembly, with the engine a bit up, added the support bracket/cushion and protective shields to the block and bolted them back down, ensuring all new bolts are tightened to 81 Nm (60 ft. lbs.). After that, fix the thru-bolt through the engine support bracket or cushion, lower the engine with the support fixture as you guide the engine bracket into the support cushion and then install the nuts, setting the tension to 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.). In the end, drive the vehicle to the ground and remove the lifting fixture.
