2000 Dodge Ram 3500 Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Shock Absorber on 2000 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: Before servicing or repairing the rear shock absorber, lift the vehicle and secure the axle in support. Then, take out the bolt and flag nut securing the frame crossmember bracket and proceed to remove the bolt and nut from the axle bracket, thereby permitting the rear shock absorber to be taken off the vehicle. To reinstall the shock, align the absorber in the brackets and pass the bolts through both brackets and the absorber, locking the flag nut on the upper bolt and the corresponding nut on the lowermost slide. In last, tighten both upper and lower bolts to the manufacturers' specifications and then remove the support to lower the vehicle.
